A few notes about me
Favorite Locations
California
I am not partial to California because it is my home state, but it does offer some terrific places to explore and photograph nature. I was hiking and camping with the family before I even had any concept of biodiversity or a state or national park. The estuarine areas of southern California, beautiful beaches, arid dunes and deserts like Death Valley National Park, and the picturesque Yosemite National Park, provide phenomenal subject matter for any nature and adventure photographer. Colorado
Colorado has over 500 national and state parks, forests, wildlife, and recreation areas from deep river canyons to arid deserts to the Rocky Mountains with 58 peaks over 14,000 ft. One of them, Pikes Peak, America's Mountain, near Colorado Springs can easily be seen from the second most visited city park in the US, second only to Central Park in New York City, namely Garden of the Gods. I have been so fortunate to have experienced this beautiful place and have Garden of the Gods virtually in my backyard to observe its incredible rock formations and wildlife. Utah
Like Colorado, Utah is plentiful with parks and natural areas. From the National Parks (Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capital Reef, and Zion) to the wildlife rich Salt Lake areas like Antelope Island, Farmington Bay Wildlife Management Area, and Bear River National Wildlife Refuge, there are many incredible places to explore in the state. The masses of migratory birds that pass through the Salt Lake region and the large bison population of Antelope Island are captivating. Click on the image to see my favorites from Utah.
